"Righteous King"
By Harold Stoddard
"Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter
the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.
"Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors
that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away,
and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of
your doings, saith the LORD.
Little did the children of Israel realize what they were
doing when they called for the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
"And they cried out again, Crucify him.
"Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they
cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him."
They were condemning the only truly righteous King the world will ever
know. Such is the power that fame and fortune has over men that the
high office of King, President, Dictator, etc. etc. can turn the most
rightouus of men to underhanded means to promote their own personal
fame and fortune.
However, the Lord Jesus Christ, though having power unlimited,
was never turned aside from His original purpose: To seek and to save
that which was lost. (Luke 19:10). Never seeking His own, He always
lived --and died--for others, according to the Father's Will.
We today are seeing the results of the Jews clamoring
for the crucifixion of Christ, and the sufferings they have borne because
of their decision in that day -- "Then answered all the people,
and said, His blood be on us, and on our children." -- Matthew
27:25 KJV.
For many generations the Jews have suffered and have been despised as
no other people have been. But be not deceived, the nations and peoples
the world over have made every effort to annihilate the Jewish nation,
but no one has ever been, or ever will be successful in that effort,
for God has not deserted His people Israel forever; only for a time,
and then they will be brought back to bless all people of the world.
Already the Jews have blessed the world with a Saviour, Jesus Christ,
and with a Book that will stand forever, the Bible. "Forever, O
LORD, thy word is settled in heaven." --Psalms 119:89 KJV
There is coming a day, not too far into the future, when
they will recognize the One whom they crucified. "And one shall
say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer,
Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends."
All the forces that Satan can muster will bring great tribulation against
the Jews and the Lord Jesus Christ. Suffering his final defeat, Satan
will be imprisoned for one thousand years...and then released for a
season to gather his forces together for one last effort in which he
will be defeated, and he will be cast into the Lake of Fire and Brimstone...where
he will be tormented day and night for ever and ever. (Revelation 20:10)
KJV
"And the LORD shall be King over all the earth: in that day shall
there be one Lord, and His name one"...(Jesus Christ). Zechariah
14:9 KJV
The consumation of this Age may come sooner than you
think, --"For the LORD himself shall descend from heaven with a
shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and
the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain
shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord
in the air: and so shall we ever be with the LORD." I Thessalonians
4:16,17 KJV.
While we know not the exact time when the Lord will come we do know
His coming is sure for He has promised in John 14:3, saying, "...I
will come again...", and He will be here in due time. Be ye therefore
ready. If you do not know Jesus as your Saviour, get that settled NOW.
Come to Him in true repentance, recognizing that SIN has kept you away
from Him until now. Believe on Him, trust Him and ask Him to save you.
"He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of
God hath not life." I John 5:12.
Perhaps you have been saved -- maybe for a long time --
but have let the cares of this life cause you to drift away. I John
2:15&16, "Love not the world, neither the things that are in
the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not
in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the
lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but it
is of the world."
Now is the time to return to the Lord, get back into Bible study, prayer
and service. He will not turn you away but will rejoice in your return.
See Luke 15:11-24.
Keep in mind that while we know Jesus will return, we do not know the
day nor the hour -- so Be Ready always, rejoicing in His love and care,
so you will not be ashamed at His coming --
"And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear,
we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming."
--
I John 2:28.
